The whole team at Imagine for Margo is preparing an unforgettable day, full of emotion and hope.<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #2baadf;\">As every year, all donations collected from the race \u00ab\u00a0children without cancer\u00a0\u00bb will be entirely given for research and will help to finance two innovating programs on precision medicine to treat tumors on children and teenagers\u00a0:<br \/>\n<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u2022 MAPPYACTS<\/strong>, a transversal program for children for whom the treatment against any kind of cancer or leukemia has failed. The idea is to perform a biopsy when the patient relapses and to make sequencing on the whole tumor genes to find the abnormalities that could be targeted by innovative treatments.<br \/>\nThanks to the donations collected by the race \u00ab\u00a0children without cancer\u00a0\u00bb, hundred additional patients will benefit from a complete sequencing of their tumor in order to identify a possible targeted treatment or an immunotherapy.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u2022<\/strong> <strong>BIOMEDE<\/strong>, the first and only European trial offering an innovative treatment, given as from the diagnosis, to children with brain stem tumor (DIPG\u00a0: Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma). 104 children have participated to BIOMEDE in France, Denmark and Sweden. There are currently 3 trial arms with three targeted therapies\u00a0: everolimus, dasatinib, erlotinib. BIOMEDE will be opened in the weeks to come to Great Britain and Spain, as well as to Belgium, Finland, Ireland, Netherlands and Italy within the end of 2017. And even to Australia.<br \/>\nThis shows the major interest of medical teams for BIOMEDE, the only innovative therapeutic offer to this disease with a so poor prognosis. The first results of efficiency of the 3 trial arms will be known beginning of 2018.<\/p>\n<p>Further to those results and thanks to the results of the analysis done from the sequencing financed by Imagine for Margo, BIOMEDE will be extended as from 2018 and will become <strong>BIOMEDE 2.0<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>\u00ab\u00a0Thanks to Imagine for Margo, we can better understand the brain stem tumors and we hope to find a treatment one day that will be really efficient\u00a0\u00bb says Doctor Jacques Grill, in charge of the BIOMEDE program.<\/p>\n<p>We wish to accelerate the launch of BIOMEDE 2.0 by financing the first 80 patients planned in 2018.<\/p>\n<p>\u00ab\u00a0With the important support of Imagine for Margo to ITCC (Innovative Therapies for Children with Cancer), we accelerate the development of therapeutic innovations for children in France and Europe\u00a0\u00bb Pr Gilles Vassal, at Gustave Roussy, President of ITCC.<\/p>\n<h3>To learn more about those 2 programs financed in 2017, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.enfantsanscancer.fr\/pourquoi-courir\/\">click here<\/a><\/h3>\n<p><div class=\"media--video-embed\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/_vVp6ZJp4SQ\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/div><\/p>\n<p>Already more than 2900 registered people, 151 teams and more than 429.000 euros collected to fight against childhood cancer.
