The French newspaper <em>Le Figaro<\/em> has summarized this very promising approach in the below article published on the 4th of June of 2019.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/imagineformargo.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/capture-dcran-2019-06-05-12-00-39.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-18670\" src=\"https:\/\/imagineformargo.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/capture-dcran-2019-06-05-12-00-39.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"2718\" height=\"2066\" srcset=\"https:\/\/imagineformargo.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/capture-dcran-2019-06-05-12-00-39.png 2718w, https:\/\/imagineformargo.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/capture-dcran-2019-06-05-12-00-39-768x584.png 768w, https:\/\/imagineformargo.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/capture-dcran-2019-06-05-12-00-39-120x90.png 120w, https:\/\/imagineformargo.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/capture-dcran-2019-06-05-12-00-39-132x100.png 132w, https:\/\/imagineformargo.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/capture-dcran-2019-06-05-12-00-39-180x137.png 180w, https:\/\/imagineformargo.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/capture-dcran-2019-06-05-12-00-39-60x46.png 60w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 2718px) 100vw, 2718px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div class=\"figp-art__body figp-art__body--size-0\">\n<h3><strong>The french program of early access to treatment<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><em>By Damien Mascret<\/em><\/p>\n<p>In 2013, France launched a remarkable program, labeled AcS\u00e9, to facilitate the access of adults and children in relapse or therapeutic rejection of innovative medication.<\/p>\n<p>Once the molecular portrait of a cancer has been identified, the program &#8220;aims at testing a large panel of innovating molecules (targeted therapies, immunotherapies, used alone or together) in a single phase 2 clinical test&#8221; specifies the National Institute of Cancer (INCA.)<\/p>\n<p><strong>The program is made possible thanks to the commitment of the pharmaceutical industry that has access to effective molecules that have demonstrated their tolerance levels in adults.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The particularity of the AcS\u00e9 program, is that it authorizes the use of targeted therapies &#8220;for therapeutic indications that are not approved for use, but their relevance is strongly presumed in the international scientific literature&#8221; specifies INCA.\u00a0 This in a secured framework that allows for efficient analysis and the gathering of secondary effects.\u00a0 However, a patient can only be in AcS\u00e9 if he or she is not in an ongoing development test.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Almost 900 patients have benefited from these targeted precision therapies in the secured framework of the AcS\u00e9 program clinical tests,&#8221; specifies INCA.\u00a0 Following this success, a whole program dedicated to paediatric cancers &#8220;AcS\u00e9 e-SMART&#8221; was launched (see our June 14, 2016 publications).\u00a0 As indicated by INCA, it has already allowed for the treatment with innovating molecules, alone or in association, of &#8220;101 children in therapeutic failure.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Endorsed by Gustave Roussy and co-financed by INCA, the Imagine for Margo Association and the ARC Foundation for cancer research, the e-SMART program unites into a single phase 2 clinical test, patients from six paediatric centres carrying the INCA certification in France.\u00a0 But not only.\u00a0 &#8220;This European-dimension test has been opened in The Netherlands, with the authorizations for use in Germany, Italy, The United Kingdom and Spain expected in 2019,&#8221; specifies INCA.<\/p>\n<p>The program is made possible thanks to the involvement of the pharmaceutical industry that has effective molecules that have shown positive results in adults.\u00a0 &#8220;To this day, 10 molecules, gracefully donated by the pharmaceutical companies Astra Zeneca, Novartis and Bristol-Myers Squibb, are currently under evaluation&#8221; reveals INCA.<\/p>\n<p><em>Le Figaro, June 4, 2019<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The therapeutical trial AcS\u00e9-ESMART,\u00a0unique in the world in the pediatric field and that we have co-funded giving 1.832.000\u20ac,\u00a0gives access to 10 personalized and innovative treatments to children in relapse or with therapeutical failure.
