Imagine for Margo: Outlook for 2026, an Anniversary Year to Accelerate the Fight Against Childhood Cancers

In 2026, Imagine for Margo will celebrate 15 years of unwavering commitment to creating a world where children are free from cancer. This anniversary year will mark a decisive milestone in our fight against childhood cancers, driven by ambitious actions, major innovations, and strengthened mobilization of all our partners, donors, volunteers, and the general public.

A look back at our outlook for this pivotal year, which will enable us to go even further in the fight against childhood cancers.

Continuing to Accelerate Research Against Childhood Cancers: Our Top Priority

Since its creation, Imagine for Margo has placed research at the heart of its mission. In 2026, we will further strengthen our efforts to fund the most promising research projects in France and across Europe.

Massive Funding for Pediatric Oncology Research Through Our Participation in Fight Kids Cancer

Fight Kids Cancer is a call for research projects created in 2020 by our association and our European partners. This year, our ambition is clear: to exceed €50 million allocated to childhood cancer research since the creation of Fight Kids Cancer. These funds support innovative programs that advance science and offer new hope of recovery to children with cancer.

Fight Kids Cancer: A Strengthened International Dimension

Now an international non-profit association, Fight Kids Cancer will intensify its efforts to identify and support the best European programs dedicated to childhood cancers. This collaborative, cross-border approach with our European partners is essential to pool expertise and accelerate scientific discoveries.

The Innovation Award: Recognizing Scientific Excellence

Our prestigious Innovation Award will be renewed in 2026. Endowed with €1 million over four years, this prize recognizes a high-potential researcher whose work promises significant advances in the fight against childhood cancers. This initiative supports emerging talent in pediatric oncology research.

Strategic Partnerships with Major European Programs

We will continue our active involvement in large-scale international initiatives: Paris Kids Cancer, the PROTECT and NexTGen projects of the Cancer Grand Challenge, as well as other European childhood cancer research programs. These collaborations strengthen the impact of our actions and foster synergies among European researchers.

Supporting the Ecosystem of Innovative Startups and Biotechs

Innovation also depends on supporting companies developing new treatments for childhood cancers. We will strengthen our actions toward startups and biotechs, notably through the pediatric working group of the Paris Saclay Cancer Cluster and initiatives such as Hack4Hope, which stimulate therapeutic innovation.

Raising Awareness of Childhood Cancers: Mobilizing the Public and Decision-Makers

Research cannot progress without collective awareness of the urgency to act against childhood cancers. In 2026, Imagine for Margo will roll out numerous communication initiatives (which you will discover throughout the year), along with large-scale awareness campaigns to make childhood cancers a public health priority.

International Childhood Cancer Day: A National Campaign

On the occasion of International Childhood Cancer Day, on February 15, 2026, we will launch our annual awareness campaign. This event is an opportunity to remind everyone that cancer remains the leading cause of death by disease among children and that urgent action is needed.

The FAST Conference: 14 Years Serving Research and Patients

We will organize our 14th FAST conference, a key event dedicated to advances in pediatric oncology research and improvements in patient follow-up. This conference brings together researchers, physicians, families, and associations to review progress made and challenges ahead.

Gold September: Mobilizing to Make Childhood Cancer a National Cause

With the GRAVIR collective, of which Imagine for Margo is a founding member, we will amplify mobilization during Gold September, the month dedicated to raising awareness of childhood cancers. We will also mobilize members of parliament and political leaders so that the fight against childhood cancers becomes a true societal priority, backed by resources equal to the challenge.

Improving the Daily Lives of Children with Cancer and Their Families

Beyond fundamental and clinical research, Imagine for Margo works concretely to improve the quality of life of children with cancer and their families during and after treatment.

Developing Supportive Care in Pediatric Oncology

Supportive care (pain management, psychological support, nutrition, adapted physical activity) is essential to improve children’s well-being throughout their care journey. In 2026, we will place strong emphasis on developing these complementary forms of care that make a real difference in daily life.

Weekends Dedicated to Parents: A Time to Recharge

Facing their child’s cancer is an immense ordeal for parents. We will continue organizing weekends dedicated to parents—true moments of respite and opportunities to share experiences with other families facing the same challenge.

Renovating Hospital Spaces: Creating a More Welcoming Environment

Hospitalization can be long and difficult for children. We will continue to fund the renovation of hospital spaces in pediatric oncology departments, transforming care facilities into warmer, more colorful environments better suited to the needs of young patients and their families.

Strengthening Our Organization to Maximize Our Impact

To amplify our fight against childhood cancers, Imagine for Margo is investing in the professionalization of its structure and the optimization of its processes.

Continuous Improvement of Our Management Tools

We will continue improving our management and steering tools to increase efficiency, optimize resource allocation, and accurately measure the impact of our actions. This professionalization approach allows us to report transparently to our donors and partners.

Recruitment of a Director of Operations

To support our growth and structure our activities, we will recruit a Director of Operations in 2026. This strategic role will enable us to better coordinate our various programs and further amplify our impact in the fight against childhood cancers.

2026: Together, Let’s Accelerate the Victory Against Childhood Cancers

This anniversary year will be a pivotal one for Imagine for Margo and for everyone fighting childhood cancers. Thanks to the loyal support of our donors, the commitment of our volunteers, and the mobilization of our partners, we will go even further to cure more children—and cure them better.

Each year in France, nearly 2,500 children and adolescents are diagnosed with cancer. One in five will not survive the disease. Faced with this unacceptable reality, we all have a role to play.

Join us in this fight: every donation, every action, every share counts in offering a future to children affected by cancer. Together, let’s make 2026 the year of decisive acceleration toward a world without childhood cancer.
