The President of the French Republic has designated the promotion of Physical and Sports Activities as the Great National Cause for 2024 (GCN2024), led by Amélie Oudéa-Castéra, Minister of Sports, Olympic and Paralympic Games, marking the first time in 46 years that this initiative has taken place. The French government’s goal is to unify the nation through sport, placing it at the heart of public policy.
As a dedicated advocate for sports-based solidarity for over a decade, Imagine for Margo is proud to announce its partnership with the Great National Cause 2024. This unique year, highlighted by the Olympic and Paralympic Games, presents an extraordinary opportunity to encourage physical activity for the health of all — both for oneself and for others.
In celebration of this exceptional partnership, our Enfants sans Cancer 2024 races have been officially recognized by the Ministry of Sports as part of the “Move Every Day” initiative under the Great National Cause 2024.
Amélie Oudéa-Castéra, Minister of Sports and the Olympic and Paralympic Games, commented, “I am thrilled to see Imagine for Margo, a wonderful association that channels sport into supporting childhood cancer research, join the Great National Cause 2024. Like the 13th edition of the Enfants sans Cancer race, recognized and supported within the framework of the Great National Cause 2024, Imagine for Margo showcases the mobilizing power of sport and its societal role. Congratulations to Patricia Blanc, its president and founder, and to all the dedicated staff and volunteers of the association, for rallying the French to support the health of children and everyone!”
Patricia Blanc, President and Founder of Imagine for Margo, stated, “Sport and solidarity have gone hand-in-hand for over 12 years through our Enfants sans Cancer race! At Imagine for Margo, we are proud and delighted that our charity event is now part of the Great National Cause 2024. Running to fight pediatric cancer, moving for the health of thousands of children fighting illness, as well as for our own health, has been one of our goals since we first launched our races. I have just one message: join us, and together let’s ‘move’ toward creating a world without childhood cancer.”
Imagine for Margo, in collaboration with the Minister of Sports and the Olympic and Paralympic Games, will have the honor of encouraging thousands of French citizens to participate in its solidarity races. Every participant running in 2024 to combat cancer among children, adolescents, and young adults will also become part of the Great National Cause 2024.
