FEBRUARY 15, 2024, INTERNATIONAL CHILDREN’S CANCER DAY

FEBRUARY 15: LET’S ALL BE UNITED AGAINST PEDIATRIC CANCERS!

February 15 is International Day Against Childhood, Adolescent and Young Adult Cancer. Initiated by Childhood Cancer International, of which our association is a part, this day is a crucial opportunity to mobilize against this devastating disease which affects more than 400,000 young people around the world each year.

Today, cancer is still the leading cause of death from disease among children over one year old in France and Europe. It is estimated that 1 in 440 children will develop cancer before the age of 15 in European countries. Among them, 1 in 5 children will die from this disease due to lack of viable treatments. These figures are intolerable today and we all have the power to act to make them disappear.

On this world day against pediatric cancers, let us raise awareness among our family, our friends, our colleagues about the fight that thousands of children, adolescents and young adults wage throughout the year and together let us mobilize to build a world with cancer-free children.
